An Incomplete Guide To The Multiverse

"Available in at least 42 universes!"

This video will help you out a lot.

The story of this universe begins with a dream... literally. I was sleeping when all of a sudden I was woken up by my brother. He explained he had something really neat to show me so I obviously asked about the time. He told me it was 3am but insisted that I had to see this so I reluctantly got out of bed and followed my brother to the hall closet. He opened it and led me to a secret lab where he showed me a device that could take us to other universes.

Our first journey brought us to a universe where you or anything could pass through the color yellow. We had a fun time then explored another one, but it became dangerous and we had to flee. Then, wouldn't you know it, our sister finds the lab and accidentally travels to that dangerous universe! We help her escape but she brought someone with her and she managed to bring them back herself. That's when I woke up and wrote the dream down in my journal. It wasn't until some time later that I actually started writing a story based off of it. One that has become something much bigger and more fun than my previous projects.

The Guide

It's Incomplete.

The Guide is infinite and as such can never be considered complete. Hence the "Incomplete Guide" part of the title. Although the Guide can never truly be complete, we can build on the Guide as we explore! So enjoy this look at some of the universes we have found.

The Dean Universe

Aw Man, Not A School Universe!

This universe was named after it's version of Earth's Humans, known as Deans. Deans are humanoid with four fingers and eyes that stretch out of the back of their head. They have superior technology, but their architecture is the equivalent of our 16th to 18th century.

Deans strive for knowledge, but very few have desired to improve architecture. Deans don't like things they don't understand and that might be why they strive for knowledge and why they haven't improved their architecture in many years, because it's confusing to them.

Deans have yet to devise a proper prison system and instead of imprisoning convicted Deans, they dig a hole just large enough for the Dean to fit and put them inside it.

The Know It All Universe

The Yellow Universe

My Least Favorite Color.

This universe has a version of Earth very similar to ours. The main differences are the fact that Evil is a gene that can be passed down and you can phase through anything that is the color yellow. Yellow is not a natural color in this universe and is something the humans of this Earth created to increase the strength of structures while also making it possible to phase through it.

The yellow increases the strength of an object by blocking anything that hits it too fast so it's a good idea to never drive a car at something yellow in this universe. Even a flower could block it or bullets, rockets, nuclear explosions. That whole thing.

How It Works

So Don't Break It.

The device used to travel the multiverse is a combination of a wardrobe like contraption and a small glowing blue orb. Each universe that is visited becomes a set numbers known as "coordinates". If you don't enter the coordinates into the wardrobe like contraption it will generate a random number of coordinates and send you to a random universe. The coordinates are then saved to a log that is shared between multiple devices including a tablet.

The glowing blue orb and the tablet use a complicated algorithm to analyze the surroundings and generate an estimated, but accurate description, of the current universes's laws of physics. It will compare this with the "home" universe of the tablet to get an idea of what we should look out for. The tablet also searches for an internet as soon as it appears in another universe. This gives it the ability to get as much knowledge as possible.

When appearing in another universe, the wardrobe contraption and the tablet keep a log of the location you appeared in in case you ever want to return to the exact-ish spot. Otherwise, you are sent to a "comparative" location in the universe. It's hard to understand, but basically imagine two maps that are completely different but the same size. Overlap them and then lets say you are currently at the center of the first map. When you move to the second map you would also be in the center. This can get pretty inaccurate when the two maps are totally different sizes, but that's just another risk you face as a multiverse traveler.

"You're such a know it all."

This universe is very literal in it's naming. Not much is known about it due to it's ability to erase all memory of it once you leave it. Based on the evidence we have we've concluded that while in this universe, you know everything about yourself including what you will do.

The downside is that you forget when you leave. It's unclear if the universe forces the outcomes it makes you know or if this universe prove the myth of free will.

Regardless, this universe is one we recommend you stay clear from.
